Artful Impact
Here at Good Shepherd, we are blessed to have such an immensely talented, nurturing and caring faculty of teachers. One of those teachers, is Ms. Talia Cervetti, who proudly runs our visual arts department. She brings her unique artistic background, Master’s level education and innate creativity to all the projects she designs for our students. The video below illustrates what our Kindergarten aged students have been working on this year so far. Thank you Ms. Cervetti!
Art is vital in elementary schools because it provides a unique and accessible avenue for comprehensive student development. It fosters essential skills like creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving as students experiment with materials and make artistic choices. Art education helps improve fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination, supports emotional expression and stress reduction and deepens cultural understanding by exposing young learners to diverse histories and perspectives through artistic works, ultimately enriching the overall educational experience.
